SELF CARE FOR THE CAREGIVER
People who work in care giving professions are usually very good at caring for others while sacrificing their own needs and putting themselves last. Have you ever flown on a plane and listened to the instructions before take off… “if the oxygen mask should happen to fall, put it on yourself and then take care of young children.” If we cannot take care of ourselves, we cannot take care of other people.
Participants attending this participatory keynote/breakout session will explore:
- Priorities related to their personal and professional lives
- How to say “NO” to others without reservations
- Specific tips for balancing the demands in your life
- The advantage of using humor in a constructive way as a stress reliever
